It’s that time again! Dukes Week is back and this time bigger than ever!
Dukes Week is our annual fundraising event where we encourage you to challenge yourself, step outside your comfort zone and in doing so, make a real impact to the lives of those less fortunate.
From the 12th -18th of September, Award Units and Participants from across the state will be raising much needed funds to support the Duke of Ed Journey for many more young Victorians.
Expanding on the success of last year’s events, Duke of Ed Victoria have teamed up with Pozible to create a crowdfunding platform that will allow all schools and organisations to easily raise funds and track their progress online. This means, we can all see exactly how much is being raised!
Did you know that Duke of Ed Victoria is a charity? That means we’re a not-for-profit organisation and everything we do is towards our purpose: empowering young Victorians.
Help us raise $7,000 to support more young Victorians including those from disadvantaged backgrounds who would otherwise not have had the chance to experience the life changing benefits of the Award.
How it works?
Give Back. Drive Change
This is a great opportunity for young people to become more aware of important issues affecting those less fortunate and to understand and experience how they can help play a part in driving positive change and making a difference to the lives of others.
Get involved as a Young Award Leader! All of our YALs will have a chance to really get involved in the celebrations and encourage all young people to take initiative to lead their own fundraising events. We would love all of you to come along to our YAL training day 23rd July where you’ll get to meet new people, hang out with our awesome Programs team (Ash & Sarah) and learn about event promotion, marketing and crowdfunding!
If you’re not a YAL and don’t really have the time but would like to give back, simply get in touch with our office and we can help you set up a Dukes Week event!
Brain Storm ideas with the team. To get you inspired, here are some events schools have run in the past:
• MasterChef challenge
• Fashion parade
• Sausage sizzle
• Scavenger hunt
• Basketball competition
• Tent set-up competition
Be creative and think up some ideas that your school will get involved in! We love seeing different ideas come to life!
Connect with us on Social Media! We will have heaps of different competitions taking place and we would love to share your amazing work.
Snapchat photos and videos of your event to our account -‘dukeofedvic’ to go into one of our many draws.
Give Back – Keep in touch with our Dukes Team and see your dollars go towards supporting young people who couldn’t afford the Award without your help!
