The 2015 Gold Awardees have worked so hard to achieve their Award and we are proud to celebrate all of their achievements. It’s amazing to see so many young people taking it on with such enthusiasm and determination and it’s important they gain the recognition they deserve. Similarly, our finalists of the Excellence and Innovation Awards have been a strong pillar of support for our Gold Awardees in achieving this success. Moorabbin Glen Eira Leader – Laura Cox – ‘Hang in there’

Laura Cox made the front page with her Gold Award success. Dedicating her Service to Circus Coaching, the Mentone Grammar School graduate hopes to pursue Physiotherapy at Monash.

Maroondah Leader – Ebony Lacy – ‘Ebony achieves gold in Duke of Edinburgh program’

Ebony’s volunteer work and dedication to leadership earned her the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. She enjoyed spending time hiking with friends and acting as a mentor at a Christian Youth Camp in Phillip Island.

Geelong Independent – Savannah Gill, Ronald Bunker, Emma Threadgold – ‘Channel swim garners top award’

Savannah Gill received her Gold Award after setting herself an incredible challenge to swim across the English Channel. She believes The Award has helped her realise what she can achieve if she puts her mind to it.

Berwick News – Susan Zhang, Abigail Rowe – ‘Teens Duke it out in awards’

Having only been living in Australia for three years, Susan achieved her Gold Award which lead her to become more engaged in her community and make many new friends.
