The lowdown on Challenge One, and how to win 2 x free passes from BounceInc!
A skip, a jump and eight short weeks
Eight short weeks ago, we wrapped up a massive Roadshow that spanned the state, sorted through video and blog entries from the most creative Duke of Ed Participants in Victoria, whittled down to a Top 8, saw social media support ramp up for your favourites, and announced the 4 Roving Reporters for 2013: Ellie Drenth (McKinnon Secondary College), Callum Nguyen (Xavier College), Elena Mitchell (Ivanhoe Girl’s Grammar School) and Jess Gair (Strathcona).
Since the announcement of the winners on the 5th of April, we’ve hit the ground running – and so have our Roving Reporters. Kicking off their License to Adventure with a Training Camp at The Summit, the Roving Reporters learnt all the ins-and-outs of producing great blogs and video content and got way out of their comfort zone in the process. Snake handling, giant swings, nail walking; you name it, they did it.
The Training Camp gave Ellie, Callum, Elena and Jess the tools to chase their dreams and big ideas throughout their Roving Reporter journey. For the last eight weeks, they’ve been doing exactly that! Blogging and capturing their experiences on film, the Roving Reporters have been giving us a glimpse into their lives and Duke of Ed adventures. If you haven’t already, get caught up with their posts and videos and share your favourites.
While we’ve been discovering what makes them tick, Ellie, Callum, Elena and Jess have been busy preparing for one of three awesome challenges that will take place through their Roving Reporter year.
We are lucky in Melbourne to have opportunities to participate in public events, showcase our athletic talents, share our journeys on social media and sometimes even grab a few seconds on television. Challenge One encapsulates all of these things, and more. Our Roving Reporters’ brief was to capture the enthusiasm that Melbournians have to participate, share the ambience of an event, display the feat of many people all raising money for the same cause and pushing themselves to cardio exhaustion.
We’re really excited to announce that the Challenge One winner is…Elena! Check out her winning entry.
The adventures are set to continue with monthly monthly and videos being produced along with the two remaining challenges. Now is the time to get behind your favourite and show your support – check out the blogs and videos and keep up with all the latest developments on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
