Gold Award Gala

The Gold Award Gala will be a night of wonderful food and beverages, entertainment, celebration and recognition of The Duke of Edinburgh’s 2015 Gold Awardees.

We are delighted to confirm that Channel Seven’s Christie Cooper will be joining us as our host for the evening. After graduating from RMIT with a Professional Communications degree in 2008, Christie Cooper spent 2 years learning the trade before joining the Seven News team as a Television Reporter. Christie is also a Duke of Edinburgh’s Awardee having completed both her Bronze and Silver Awards. Read Christie’s full bio and more on her achievements here.

Jason Heerah is one of Melbourne’s most regularly playing live musicians and was a 2014 finalist on the popular show X-Factor. He specializes in Drums, Percussion, Vocals, Producing and Songwriting. We are excited to welcome Jason back for his second year performing live at the Gala. Read our interview with Jason here and find out his advice for this years Awardees.

We are also pleased to confirm that Michael Dillon will be joining us as our Gold Award Presenter of Certificates. As Australia’s first Gold Award recipient, Michael Dillon has gone on to become Australia’s leading Cameraman/Director of Adventure and Expedition Documentaries. On an International level he has won more awards in this field than any other individual worldwide. Read about how Duke of Ed shaped Michael’s career journey here.
