Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC Governor of Victoria is patron of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia (Victoria).
The Honourable Linda Dessau AC was sworn in as the 29th Governor of Victoria on 1st July 2015. Her role is to act as the Queen’s representative as Head of State in Victoria, and her key responsibilities cover three areas: constitutional, ceremonial and community engagement.
Key to the Governor’s role is the encouragement, support and promotion of democracy and community. She encourages people of all ages to strive for high achievements in volunteer service, industry, the arts, sport, bravery, caring for those in need, and other areas that benefit the community.
We are delighted to see a Governor of Victoria who has a strong passion for empowering young people, and who celebrates diversity and social inclusion.
