Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AM Governor of Victoria is patron of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Australia – Victoria.
Sworn in as the 29th Governor of Victoria on 1st July 2015, the Honourable Linda Dessau AM is the first female in the role. The Governor’s role is to act as the Queen’s representative as Head of State in Victoria. Her key responsibilities cover three areas: constitutional, ceremonial and community engagement.
Key to the Governor’s role is to encourage, support and promote democracy and community. She encourages people of all ages to strive toward high achievements in volunteer service, industry, the arts, sport, bravery, caring for those in need and other areas that benefit the community.
We are delighted to see a Governor of Victoria who has a strong passion for empowering young people, and who celebrates diversity and social inclusion.
