The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia (Victoria) announced this week that Chief Executive Officer Anoushka Gungadin has decided to step down after almost four years at the helm of the organisation.

Reflecting on her decision to resign, Anoushka stated, “It has been an enormous privilege to have led the Duke of Ed during such an important period of transformation. I am immensely proud of the great strides and accomplishments we have achieved. I am leaving the Duke of Ed in strong financial shape and armed with a dedicated and capable team. This is the right time to move on and focus on my other projects in leadership, entrepreneurship and global trade… I thank all our friends, partners and supporters for our collaboration over the last four years. I am pleased to stay involved as a supporter, advocate and friend of the Award”.
Chairman Mr Gary Rowe stated, “The Board is thankful to Anoushka for her years of service, commitment and leadership. She joined the organisation for one year but stayed for three-and-a-half — in that time ensuring the growth and sustainability of the organisation’’.

“During her time as CEO,” Mr Rowe continued, “Anoushka welcomed a number of significant partnerships and launched several innovative initiatives”.

He added that Ms Gungadin’s outstanding contributions included:
• A partnership with La Trobe University
• Advice on the new Victorian Government Youth policy
• The launch of the Duke of Ed Employer program in Victoria
• Holding three fundraising Gold Award Galas, with the Duke of Ed’s patron, Ms Linda Dessau, Governor of Victoria, in attendance at the 2016 Gala.

“The process of replacement of the head of our organisation will happen over the coming weeks. We hope for continued and robust support from all our partners, sponsors and community as we work together to further Duke of Ed’s success. In the meantime, we wish Anoushka every success as she progresses her career” concluded Mr Rowe.
Mr Peter Kaye AM, CEO of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia, also reflected on Ms Gungadin’s contribution, stating, “In serving as Duke of Ed Victoria’s Chief Executive Officer, Anoushka has grown and enriched the organisation’s reach and standing in Victoria”.
